Love is Everything……..Happy Valentimes !….”Sometimes you talk too much !” I decided to limit  love songs between 2 people on  the first Deee-lite album and sang instead about my love for the world , love of deejaying, showing my  love of kindness to strangers with a smile , love of Dr. Suess, love of metaphysical ESP, love of funk, love of Marshall McCluen & the “global village”, love of NYC, love of technology & the age of communication,  science fiction,love of a good beat ,and love as a concerned member of the human race …but when it comes down to it, no matter who or what you love ……Love IS everything….

" Sometimes you talk too much " from the song "Love is Everything" .I wrote  this ballad with Dmitry in 1988 and once we got in the studio, Bernie Worrell added some additional keys and Gary "Mudbone" Cooper ( who wrote "I’d rather be with you) and Bootsy are adding  some BVs together with mine. James Mona shot this footage on super 8 and there you have it……

RETURN TO LONDON 

here I am playing at Horsemeat disco i the early 2000’s. i played there 3 times  including their  opening night in Soho as well as the opening night in Vauxhall.  There’s also a photo here  from club 303  and then in my home studio just down the street  from where I’ll be playing May 12th  at The Macbeth ,  70 Hoxton street   with the Pussy Faggot Possee. I’m still playing disco, 80’s house, acid, and some punk!. -www.ladykier.com

For Deee-lites second show , I hired Captain Whizzo ( Joshua Light show -hendrix , janis Joplen ,Sly Stone,etc…..) t project his superb oil and water liquid multimedia show . I wasn’t just a fan of  Whizzo , he was the perfect  way to cover up how nervous I was singing in public , because I was in the dark and let his show do the work .  Fortunatly I got over stage fright after a couple of gigs with Bootsy’s rubber band  backing me up . Whizzo had a hippie habit of showing up at our williamsburg apt ( this was in 1987)  about 3 days before the gig saying ” can i crash here until the gig? ” . his fingers were always purple from the Inks. he was a huge man who could carry all his own gear ( huge overhead projectors that looked like a big table and smaller 16” projectors  and slide shows . gear from the 50’s and  he’d carry them up 6 flights to our flat . he was too paranoid to have an assistant ( all that acid i suppose) but the warmest person with a huge heart. This performance is before towa was in the group  and was performed  at the legendary pyramid club . Both  songs “I won’t give up”  and “electric shock” ( subconsciously written about the internet) were on the second album INFINITY WITHIN.   We worked with Capt. Whizzo for approx 4 years. We couldn’t take him on the road when we blew up because his equipment was not transportable . a shame.  Capt. Whizzo -still in my heart- R.I.P. - Lady Miss Kier

It was fantastic to see Pam Hogg and her new collection during my brief stay in London. I’m very excited about the film she’s directing . The ever so talented Eric D. Clark brought me to the Shorditch house. My  my….how Hoxton has changed since I  moved back home to NYC in 2004 from there. It brought back a lot of fun memories traipsing around the old new nabe. I was listening to Greg Wilson edits on my ipod as well as some new music I churned out the first night I arrived with House of Lords who made time to squeeze me into their studio in the  midst of co- producing the new George Clinton album. weeeee.   1  1/2  days in london was just enough. i listened to the new  trax I wrote with A GUY CALLED GERALD all the way back on the plane. The snow is nearly gone in NYC and I am ready to get busy for spring 2011 releases. if your’e out and about this sunday  come catch me dj at the new club called DROPOUT at DonHills -  an appropriate name for my mystery phase of managing to hide  from the limelite and yet do whatever the eff  I want all around the world .
