when I first heard the Chipmunks ,they were singing the early corny hits of the Beatles like “i wanna hold your hand” ( this was years before the beatles took LSD )  so when my aunt Kitsy played me the Beatles for the 1st time, I said ” these Beatles ripped off the Chipmunks -what a bunch of fakes!” I was 3 years old.  i suppose  even at that age , authenticity meant everything to me….who did it first ? who ripped it off ? …this will always fascinate me.
