On my 2nd visit to japan, we had a day off and went to the street where every genre of music is repped by a japanese doppleganger…first I saw 6 john lennon look-a-like and sound-alikes with acoustic guitar, round glasses, and sandals …moving on down the road, I saw 5 punk-y bands with their vans backed up blasting their sound system side by side for the loudest soundclash I ever heard…next up ‘grunge”, then “heavy metal” then “lap music or hip hop”…each genre had approx. 5 groups side by side - some had no fans and others had approx 12 young girls dance-arobic-cheering in unison. no original music or style here but very good imitations and a lot of passion. The oddest part were the voguers….they were vogueing while holding tightly to their girlfriends hand!!!???? Definitely vogueing on the Downlow-HARD! the ‘rockabillies” were my favorite …..and here they are!!!!!- lady Miss Kier …www.ladykier.com
